2010年一天夜里，京东办公大楼传来刘强东的怒吼：“未来五年，京东商城图书业务要是敢盈利，我就把你们全开了……”
这话传到当当创始人李国庆那里，他随机回怼：“如果京东和当当网拼低价，当当网一定会报复性还击！
随后两家电商公司展开了威震商界的图书价格战。
资深媒体人@春蔚在微博发布了几段李国庆的专访视频。
在回忆起此事时，李国庆表示：“刘强东当时那样做确实是伤感情，但是人家就是比我有雄心。”
春蔚问到：“京东在探索市场化当中确实是踩着当当往前走的，特别是图书大比拼，最开始刘强东说自己绝对不会卖图书，结果看到当当网上市后，就拿图书来打当当，你对此怎么看？”
李国庆表示：“那时候京东无论从知名度，还是销售额都不如当当，由于用户少，京东当时的销售额和流量大概都是当当的75%，但刘强东敢赌。”
俗话说“不要用你的业余爱好去挑战别人的饭碗。”但当时的京东就是拿自己的副业去和别人的主业比。
而刘强东为了表示自己的决心，还在社交平台上发下狠话“把图书的价格打到0为止；京东商城的图书业务不允许盈利一分钱……”
最终，这场大部分人都不看好商战还是让刘强东打赢了。
更戏剧化的是，一顿外卖，两个电商老炮，十余年商战恩怨竟然翻篇了。
今年4月底，李国庆在抖音上晒出自己收到的一桌丰盛京东外卖，而下单的，正是他曾经在电商战场上最激烈的对手刘强东。
