E.ON SE, in collaboration with Orcan Energy, has implemented an Organic Rankine Cycle $(ORC)$ system at the Kristall-Glasfabrik Amberg GmbH facility, known as the "Glass Cathedral." Designed by Walter Gropius, this site will now utilize innovative technology to enhance energy efficiency in glass production. The ORC system converts waste heat from the production process into electrical energy, aiming to reduce CO₂ emissions and increase sustainability. This integration of modern technology with historical architecture aims to support a more sustainable future for the energy-intensive glass production industry.
