MILAN, June 30 (Reuters) - Ares Management has appointed Alessandro Verdirrame as Italy country chief for its wealth management solutions, a newly created role, it said on Monday.

Verdirrame will be based in Milan, where Ares has recently opened an office.

He joins from Goldman Sachs, where he has spent just over a decade, most recently as an executive director in the EMEA client solutions group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM).

At GSAM, Verdirrame was responsible for managing and expanding relationships with third-party wealth clients, including private banks, asset managers and insurance companies, Ares said in a statement.

Prior to GSAM, he was a member of the Italian sales team at UBS Asset Management and, earlier still, worked for Deutsche Bank's Asset & Wealth Management team.
