据报道，微软执行副总裁Yusuf Mehdi表示，目前全球有超过10亿台活跃设备运行Windows系统，相较于2022年财报中的14亿台设备，过去三年Windows用户群萎缩了约4亿。尽管苹果macOS对Windows构成了一定威胁，但并非所有流失用户都转向了Mac，因为Mac销量自2023年起也在下滑。实际上，许多人正逐渐放弃传统电脑，转而使用功能日益强大的智能手机和平板电脑。目前，Windows PC的主要消费群体为游戏玩家和依赖特定Windows软件的专业人士。尽管Windows 10即将停止支持，可能会带动企业采购的增长，但对于普通消费者来说，这并非必然的刺激因素，因为他们的Windows 10电脑即使不再获得更新，仍能正常使用，只是可能面临更高的安全风险。
