Shares of Newmont (ASX:NEM) fell over 1% in recent trading on Monday, while those of Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) climbed almost 1%, as gold fell after two consecutive weekly declines.
The precious metal is on track for its first monthly decline of the year.
