据“常州人大”消息，6月30日，常州市第十七届人民代表大会常务委员会第二十五次会议通过，任命方靖同志为常州市人民政府副市长。
公开资料显示，方靖出生于1981年1月，安徽蚌埠人，研究生学历、博士学位。他长期在南京市工作，曾任溧水区委副书记，南京市科学技术局局长、党组书记等职。
2021年7月，方靖任南京市鼓楼区委副书记、副区长、代理区长，次年1月“去代转正”。
今年5月，江苏省委组织部发布一则省管领导干部任职前公示，其中，方靖拟任设区市委常委，推荐提名为设区市副市长人选。
6月初，方靖已以常州市委常委、市政府党组成员的身份出席会议，至今日获任副市长。
据官网介绍，常州市地处江苏省南部、长三角腹地，东与无锡相邻，西与南京、镇江接壤，南与无锡、安徽宣城交界，与上海、南京两大都市等距相望，总面积4372平方公里，市区面积为2838平方公里。截至2024年年末常住人口538.60万人。
初步核算，2024年常州实现地区生产总值（GDP）10813.6亿元，按不变价格计算，比上年增长6.1%；按常住人口计算，人均地区生产总值达20.1万元，增长5.9%。
