BlockBeats News, June 30, according to TheBlock, the Ethereum community plans to launch an on-chain "Time Capsule" to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the network's genesis block. The project, supported by EthCC, Protocol Guild, and Shutter Network, will allow users to cryptographically store personal memories on-chain for a fee of 2.5 USD equivalent in ETH.

The project will be released on the tenth anniversary of the Ethereum genesis block, which falls on July 30, inviting users to lock in art, memories, messages, and predictions in an encrypted smart contract until next year's arrival of the eleventh anniversary of the genesis block. All proceeds from the project will be donated to the Protocol Guild to support core research. Jérôme de Tychey, the founder of EthCC, stated, "Celebrating our history helps nurture the culture and values of Ethereum." Contributors from the Protocol Guild, known as "Cheeky Gorilla," described the Time Capsule as an "opportunity to reflect on progress and prepare for the next decade."
