BuzzFeed Inc. has recently entered into a financial agreement through its subsidiary, BuzzFeed Studios Canada, Inc., acquiring a majority stock interest in Girls Like Girls Film Inc. This acquisition includes assuming the company's debt of approximately $4.8 million (CAD $6.6 million) with the Royal Bank of Canada $(RBC)$. Out of this debt, $4.0 million is expected to be repaid from proceeds of a distribution rights contract for a feature film, while the remaining $0.8 million is due upon receipt of anticipated production tax credits. The repayment dates are currently unknown but are anticipated within the next year. Additionally, Girls Like Girls Film Inc. has access to a $0.4 million foreign exchange line of credit from RBC, which is currently unused. Both BuzzFeed Studios Canada Inc. and Lexland Studios, Inc. have agreed to guarantee the obligations of Girls Like Girls Film Inc., although this guarantee has yet to be formalized.
