Hyundai Rotem (KRX:064350) introduced the second-generation KTX-Eum, a 260 km/h electric multiple unit (EMU)-type high-speed train set for deployment on major domestic routes, Pulse News reported Monday.
Shares of the company increased nearly 3% in Tuesday morning trade.
The high-speed train features a distributed power system for improved capacity and efficiency, and aligns with global EMU trends that dominate over 80% of the high-speed rail market, the report said.
Hyundai Rotem also plans to pursue overseas contracts, with the UAE and Eastern Europe as key export targets, it said.
