Envirotech Vehicles Inc. has commenced the delivery of its EVT Bumble Bee electric school buses with the first three units arriving in the Texas school districts of Freer, Blanket, and Waelder. These deliveries mark the beginning of Envirotech's full commercial-stage operations in the electric school bus sector. The initiative is funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus Program, which aims to replace existing school buses with zero-emission alternatives. The program has allocated $8,570,000 for the delivery of 25 EVT buses. Envirotech's President, Jason Maddox, expressed gratitude to the EPA for their support and highlighted the potential for future deliveries contingent on additional federal funding. Waelder ISD Superintendent, Dr. Ron Lilie, praised the new buses, emphasizing their zero emissions and improved safety for students.
