谷歌因滥用手机用户数据被判赔偿超3亿美元
美国加利福尼亚州圣克拉拉高等法院的一个陪审团1日裁定，谷歌公司未经用户许可滥用安卓手机用户数据，需向加州的安卓手机用户支付超过3.146亿美元赔偿金。
这一案件的原告于2019年代表约1400万名加州用户在位于该州圣何塞市的圣克拉拉高等法院提起集体诉讼。原告说，谷歌公司在手机待机状态下仍持续收集用户信息，用于包括定向广告在内的商业用途，造成用户不得不承担“强制性且不可避免的负担”。
谷歌公司辩称，其服务条款和隐私政策中已对数据传输进行了说明，用户已同意相关条款，没有安卓用户因数据传输而受到损害。
陪审团同意原告观点，裁定谷歌公司在未获用户授权的情况下，利用手机设备发送和接收信息，侵犯了用户权益。原告律师格伦·萨默斯表示，该裁决有力地证明了此案的价值，也反映了谷歌不当行为的严重性。
谷歌公司发言人在一份声明中表示，谷歌将提出上诉，这一裁决“误解了对安卓设备安全性、性能和可靠性至关重要的服务”。
除此案外，另有一项类似的集体诉讼正在圣何塞联邦法院审理，原告代表加州以外美国其他49个州的安卓用户，该诉讼预计将于2026年4月开庭。
