BlockBeats 消息，7 月 3 日，有“美联储传声筒”之称的《华尔街日报》记者 Nick Timiraos 发文表示，美国财政部长贝森特再次在采访中表示，美联储应该能够根据自己的降息标准在 9 月份之前降息。贝森特称，“我认为如果降息标准是关税不会导致通货膨胀，如果美联储要遵循这个标准，我认为他们可以提前实施，但肯定在 9 月份之前。不过我并不认同美联储的标准，但如果遵循这个标准，那为什么不在秋季实施呢？”
贝森特表示，美联储关于通胀上升的预测是错误的，但他并不质疑美联储关于经济增长将会减弱的观点，并表示对经济增长放缓的预测应该促使美联储恢复降息。
贝森特此前曾表示，他不会对未来的货币政策发表评论。
