消息面上，环球新材国际公布，公司将于2025年7月21日召开股东特别大会，寻求批准拟收购德国默克全球表面解决方案业务交易事项等。公告称，集团董事长苏尔田先生及其控制的公司，连同若干其他股东，合计持有公司50.6%的权益。并已作出不可撤销的承诺，将在股东特别大会上投票赞成批准该交易。
公开资料显示，默克表面解决方案专注于提供用于涂料、化妆品和工业的表面解决方案，在高品质市场占据重要地位，其在全球汽车和化妆品市场的影响力尤为显著。环球新材国际和表面解决方案在产品组合、专业技术和地域覆盖方面高度互补。据悉，环球新材国际于2024年7月25日与德国默克签订拟收购全球表面解决方案业务协议，此次通函进一步披露了相关交易事项的最新进展，也预示着项目即将落地。
