瑞银发表研究报告指，港府宣布粤车南下政策将率先以每日100个预约配额试行，由于粤车南下将经港珠澳大桥入境，预料主要面向大湾区西部包括珠海、中山等地居民，相信可为香港引入新客源。参考港车北上已达每五辆香港车有一辆参与的程度，该行估计南下需求或同样强劲。
瑞银指，目前经港珠澳大桥入境旅客仅占内地访港旅客总量7%，远低于经高铁、落马洲、罗湖及深圳湾等口岸的比例，反映现有旅客来源集中于大湾区东部及广州。但考虑到单程车程需时约90分钟，桥费达150元人民币，瑞银相信旅客来港目的性需要更强，因此香港举行独有的大型活动将成关键。
