Standard Chartered Buys Back Over 700,000 Shares from JP Morgan

Standard Chartered (HKG:2888) said it bought back for cancellation over 700,000 shares from J.P. Morgan Securities, according to a Hong Kong bourse filing Tuesday.

Shares were little changed in morning trade Wednesday.

The bank bought 716,000 shares on June 30 at a volume weighted average price of 12.06 pounds each.

The shares were repurchased as part of the company's buy-back programme which has a remaining threshold of US$1.21 billion.
