Paramount Global's (PARA) television network Comedy Central has postponed the debut of the new season of animated show "South Park," drawing an angry response from show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who blamed the delay on the merger of the company with Skydance Media.
The network moved the premiere of the show's 27th season to July 23, according to a post on X. The season premiere was originally slated for July 9.
This prompted Parker and Stone to post an expletive-laden statement on the same X channel, blaming the long-delayed merger of the two companies. "We are at the studio working on new episodes and we hope the fans get to see them somehow," they said.
Parker and Stone had earlier accused Skydance Media of blocking a deal worth $2.5 billion in streaming rights and threatened legal action.
