Exclusive: Gallagher Re NA hiring spree continues with Apostolides from Lockton Re

By James Thaler

July 2 - (The Insurer) - Gallagher Re has recruited senior casualty broker Emily Apostolides from Lockton Re, sources told The Insurer, continuing a run of hires in the last week that includes Mark Braithwaite from Lockton Re and Joe Jackson from Aon.

Apostolides had been with Lockton Re since September 2020. She was part of a team of Willis Re casualty and professional liability brokers that joined Lockton Re at that time.

That team included Braithwaite, who last month resigned from his role with Lockton Re after five years to join Gallagher Re. The move reunited him with former colleagues at Willis Re, which was acquired by Arthur J Gallagher in 2021.

Braithwaite and Apostolides worked together at Willis Re for around 15 years before joining Lockton Re.

The Insurer could not immediately confirm whether any additional casualty brokers have also resigned from Lockton Re, alongside Apostolides.

Gallagher Re and Lockton Re did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Insurer exclusively reported on Tuesday that Gallagher Re had recruited 20-year industry veteran and large account property broker Jackson from Aon.

Earlier on Wednesday, Gallagher Re announced it had hired Pablo Muñoz from Aon for the newly created role of CEO of global facultative reinsurance.
