Airline 2Q Results Will Be Closely Watched For 'Green Shoots in Demand' -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

1418 ET - Bank of America expects airlines to report 2Q earnings largely in-line with their outlooks as demand has been in a "holding pattern," according to a research note. The analysts say TSA throughput was down in June and May, and that their aggregated debit and credit card data for spending on airlines was down slightly more in June than in both April and May. As a result, the analysts don't expect a meaningful sequential improvement in revenues. "We believe investors will be looking for commentary on green shoots in demand, and any further commentary on 2H25 capacity cuts could be viewed positively," they write. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
