1111 ET - Warner Bros. Discovery's 2Q earnings will reflect a strong quarter at the box office, though offset by industry headwinds in its linear cable networks business, BofA Securities analysts say in a research note. The company's studios segment should show significant year-over-year Ebitda growth in 2Q driven by a strong box office showing, continued momentum in TV and easier comps. Analysts note that the upcoming release of "Superman," if successful, could be a critical driver in the studio business' turnaround and has implications across multiple lines including direct-to-consumer, gaming and experiences. The analysts maintain their buy rating and raise their price objective to $16 from $14. Shares decline 4.9% to $10.90. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
