据彭博社当地时间7月3日报道，中国已经连续三个月未购买美国原油——这是自2018年以来的最长纪录。这无异于给了本就面临着油价下跌压力的美国页岩油开采商一记新的打击。

根据周四公布的美国官方调查数据，中国这一全球最大的原油进口国在5月未购买任何美国原油，与3月和4月的情况一致。这两个全球最大经济体之间的贸易争端也给市场带来了冲击。中国买家的缺席导致美国海外原油销售量暴跌至两年来的最低水平。

中国转向减少购买美国原油对美国的页岩油生产商而言是个坏消息，因为这些生产商一定程度上依赖向海外出口石油来维持其运营，并避免美国国内市场出现原油供应过剩的情况。雪上加霜的是，这些生产商还需要面对西得克萨斯中间基原油（WTI）价格跌破每桶70美元，以及欧佩克表示因地缘政治紧张局势缓解而考虑恢复部分原油产量的压力。
