Companies that run prisons and detention facilities are sharply higher following President Trump's legislative victory.

GEO Group shares were up 7.6% at $27.24 in premarket trading, while CoreCivic climbed 4.6% to $22.68.

Trump signed the "one big, beautiful bill" during a Fourth of July ceremony. The package cuts taxes, boosts border security and lowers social safety-net spending. The boost in border security will benefit GEO and CoreCivic as funding will go to physical detention such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers.
