路透旧金山7月8日 - 国际商业机器$(IBM)$公司IBM.N周二宣布推出一系列新的资料中心芯片和服务器(服务器)，IBM表示，这些芯片和服务器将比竞争对手更节能，并且将简化在业务运营中推出人工智能的过程。
IBM周二推出了新款Power11芯片，这是自2020年以来其“Power”系列芯片的首次重大更新。
这些芯片传统上与英特尔INTC.O和AMD(超威/超微) AMD.O在资料中心方面竞争，特别是在金融服务、制造业和医疗保健等专业领域。
IBM计划在今年第四季度将Power11与去年推出的AI芯片Spyre整合。
IBM的Power系统总经理麦克弗森表示，IBM的目标并不是与Nvidia在创建和训练人工智能系统上竞争，而是专注于简化人工智能推论(AI Inference)的部署，让人工智能系统加速完成业务任务的过程。
麦克弗森说：“它不会拥有用于训练或其他用途的全部马力，但它将拥有非常好的推论能力，并且易于整合。”(完)
