ATS's CEO Departure a Big Loss But Not Terminal -- Market Talk

1032 GMT - ATS losing CEO Andrew Hider was always a known possibility, but TD Cowen's Cherilyn Radbourne says his departure is still a blow. "Based on Hider's leadership caliber, the potential for another organization to recruit him was always a risk, but the announcement still came as a surprise," the analyst says. The timing is also unfavorable because the Canadian automation and tech company is still exiting a challenging fiscal 2025, Radbourne says. However, she sees a strong foundation for the current fiscal year based on a robust backlog and a strong trajectory for the company's life-science segment. And while the departure may not be ideal, "we do not interpret his departure as a signal regarding his view of ATS's future prospects." (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
