Merit Medical CEO-Elect Has Diverse Experience Needed to Succeed Founder -- Market Talk

Merit Medical Systems' newly appointed chief executive, Martha Aronson, will have big shoes to fill, but Raymond James analysts Jayson Bedford and Elaine Cui believe she can deliver. The board has been looking for a successor since founder and long-time CEO Fred Lampropoulos said in 2023 he planned to step down this year. Aronson has never been the CEO of a publicly traded company, but she has significant medical technology experience at Hillrom and Medtronic, as well as board experience. "We believe this diversified experience, at both large and small companies in a variety of roles is the primary reason why the board chose Ms. Aronson," the analysts say. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
