韩国金融监管机构和证券交易所运营商已准备采取措施遏制包括非法卖空在内的不公平交易行为，此前韩国总统李在明下令对违规者采取“一次违规即退出”的政策。韩国金融委员会（FSC）周三表示，FSC、金融监督院（FSS）和韩国交易所组成的联合工作组将瞄准股价操纵行为，誓言追回非法所得，长期而言将把违规者逐出资本市场。FSC表示：“将对严重违规卖空行为处以最高级别的罚款（空单的100%），并暂停业务和限制交易。”今年3月，韩国金融监管机构称已完成对卖空违规行为的调查，共对13家外资银行处以罚款。韩国资本市场法禁止 ”裸卖空“，即在未借入股票或未确定能否借入股票的情况下卖出股票。韩国于3月解除卖空禁令，为五年来首见，在这之前其已经备妥一套能够更好地侦测非法交易的系统。FSC计划逐步收紧上市标准，如市值和营收等，以 ”促进股票市场的发展和信誉“。
