STOCKHOLM--Atlas Copco said it would acquire a 70% stake in Chinese purification equipment manufacturer Shanghai Shareway Environment Technology.
Minority shareholders will retain a 30% ownership share and the company will be managed as an independent entity, with its own research and development and production, Atlas Copco said Thursday.
The Chinese company mainly produces equipment to treat waste gases from semiconductor and solar-panel manufacturing, employing 320 people. It reported 2024 revenue of around 630 million yuan ($87.7 million).
The deal is expected to close during the third quarter.
The purchase price wasn't disclosed.
