0159 GMT - Malaysia's semiconductor sector outlook may remain cautious due to the ongoing U.S. trade policy uncertainties, says TA Securities analyst Chan Mun Chun. This is despite forecasts of continued global sales growth in 2025 by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics. He reckons that sector-specific U.S. tariffs on semiconductors could significantly impact end-market demand and corporate earnings. However, he believes the Malaysian government will stay committed to executing its semiconductor blueprint to strengthen the country's position in the global value chain. TA maintains a neutral rating on Malaysia's semiconductor sector.(yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
