智通财经APP获悉，据日媒周五报道，日产正洽谈在美国向本田(HMC.US)供应汽车，此举或能帮助这家处境艰难的日本车企盘活其利用率不足的美国工厂。
该报称，日产考虑在密西西比州坎顿工厂为本田生产皮卡，该工厂目前主要生产Frontier等车型。
今年，日产与本田合并组建全球第三大汽车制造商的谈判破裂，但双方随后表示，将继续在电动汽车等领域保持合作。
日产周五在声明中表示，与本田的合作项目仍在推进中，但暂无更多更新信息，且不会对市场猜测置评。本田方面暂未回应置评请求。
截至今年3月的财年，日产净亏损达45亿美元。受车型阵容老化影响，其销量持续下滑，经营承压。
日产今年有约7000亿日元(约合48亿美元)债务到期，且三大主流评级机构均已将其信用评级下调至垃圾级。
日产新任首席执行官伊万·埃斯皮诺萨已推出大规模成本削减计划，包括关闭全球7家工厂，并裁减15%的全球员工。
与其他传统车企一样，日产和本田正面临来自中国车企的竞争压力，同时还需应对美日汽车关税谈判带来的不确定性。
