CBA teams up with JPMorgan for blockchain-led funding market trials

Three major banks have signed up to trial digital payment and settlement systems as part of a Reserve Bank of Australia-led project to test how blockchain infrastructure could improve transaction processing.

Commonwealth Bank will work with JPMorgan in a trial to see how the technology can overhaul funding markets, while Westpac will investigate how to let people transact with digital tokens on existing apps. ANZ is considering making bond trades using a central bank digital currency.
