Shares of Westpac Banking (ASX:WBC,NZE:WBC) and ANZ Group Holdings (ASX:ANZ, NZE:ANZ) were flat in Friday trade after the New Zealand government said late Thursday it has launched a cross-sector Anti-Scam Alliance to improve how different sectors share and respond to scam information.

The program aims to boost intelligence sharing, update industry codes, raise public awareness, and support scam prevention tools, the government said.

The initiative brings together government agencies, banks, telecommunications firms, digital platforms, and consumer groups to lead the development of a national anti-scam strategy.
