DallasNews (DALN) and Hearst said Thursday they have signed a deal under which the latter will acquire DallasNews for $14 per share in cash.

Shares of DallasNews more than tripled as intraday trading volume catapulted to over 4.1 million from a daily average of roughly 27,000.

BIT Mining (BTCM) shares more than doubled intraday amid heavy trading as the company said Thursday it plans to raise $200 million to $300 million to build a Solana cryptocurrency treasury.

More than 147.4 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 68,000.

Ligand Pharmaceuticals (LGND) said Thursday its partner Pelthos Therapeutics (PTHS) has commercially launched Zelsuvmi, an at-home treatment for a skin infection called molluscum contagiosum, which has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.

Shares of Pelthos soared 66% as intraday trading volume climbed to more than 516,000 from a daily average of about 112,000.
