IT之家 7 月 9 日消息，社交媒体推特的联合创始人杰克・多西 (Jack Dorsey) 当地时间本月 6 日公布了其在 Bluesky 后的又一个社交媒体尝试 —— bitchat。

bitchat 是一个利用 BLE 蓝牙低功耗 MESH 通信网络的近场聊天应用，其采用去中心化的无服务器设计，不需要连接到互联网基础设施，甚至不存在账户概念。在通信方面其采用端到端加密的对等传输。

IT之家了解到，bitchat 支持点对点模和可密钥加密的聊天室模式。其可通过多跳 MESH 网络可实现超越单一蓝牙连接距离的信号覆盖。
