Meta Platforms (META) was notified of an objection raised by the French Competition Authority related to the company's practices in the online advertisement sector, the French government body said Wednesday.
The French antitrust agency said Meta is "accused of abusing its dominant position by limiting access to partnerships" relating to ad verification services on ad inventories sold by social media company, under conditions that are "not transparent, objective or non-discriminatory".
The regulator said that only an "inter partes investigation" will allow it to determine if the objections are "well-founded." The investigation will be preceded by an exchange of written observations and an oral hearing, the regulator said.
Meta Platforms did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
