FanDuel's $31B Valuation Puts Fox Equity Option Well Under Market Price -- Market Talk

1908 ET - Flutter Entertainment now controls 100% of the sports-betting platform FanDuel, but Fox still has the option to snag 18.6% equity interest before 2030. Flutter said Thursday it would pay $1.55 billion for the remaining 5% stake in FanDuel, giving the platform an implied value of $31 billion. In 2020, when Fox reserved the right to an equity stake in FanDuel, the companies valued FanDuel at $20 billion and agreed to an exercise price of $4.5 billion. Thursday's valuation puts that price well below market value, as an 18.6% stake would be worth $5.77 billion. The agreement stipulates Fox would have to exercise the option in full.
