0842 GMT - SK Telecom is set to take a 2Q earnings hit from a recent cybersecurity breach, Korea Investment & Securities analyst J.C. Kim says in a note. The hacking incident, detected in April, and ensuing Universal Subscriber Identity Module card replacements for customers likely had the South Korean wireless carrier recognize an extra one-off cost of 224.80 billion won in 2Q , Kim reckons. Operating profit is expected to have dropped 38% from a year earlier to 332.20 billion won for the three months ended June 30, he says. SK Telecom's annual earnings could be pressured further by additional costs for hacking-related customer services and security measures, he adds. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
