美联储理事Christopher Waller表示，央行应继续缩减资产负债表的规模，并将结构调整为更高比例短期资产，整体规模可能不需要大幅下降。

　　Waller周四在达拉斯联储举办的一场活动上发表书面演讲称，“我认为我们可能还可以在一段时间内继续让到期和提前偿付的证券自然退出资产负债表，减少准备金余额。”

　　他在这场专门讨论资产负债表的演讲中指出，资产负债表应继续收缩，但不必像一些美联储观察人士和经济学家所建议的缩那么多。

　　Waller称，目前银行系统的准备金处于“充裕”水平，甚至比美联储认为的“充足”水平还要高，理想情况下应在2.7万亿美元左右。加上美联储持有的货币以及美国财政部的一般账户余额，整体资产负债表规模应控制在5.8万亿美元左右，而当前约为6.7万亿美元。
