李想发文称过去几年理想新车的发布会都在理想汽车各园区的几块“草坪”，最主要是省钱+提效。因此很多人都调侃理想是“抠厂”，“从我角度来看，这在某些方面是一个褒义词，当家才知道柴米贵。”

李想表示7月29日的理想i8发布会，有几个选择自己在纠结，并征求网友意见：是继续在楼下草坪还是找个大场馆；是像以前一样讲一个小时，还是把时间放长点，“小米每次三个小时的发布会，大家也都津津有味”。
