According to the report, which surveyed 200 federal leaders, a significant 83% of agencies acknowledge their data is not yet ready for AI use. Despite this, there is optimism, with 41% conducting small-scale pilots and 16% expanding efforts, while 8% have mature AI programs. The report highlights that 50% of agencies are focused on experimentation, and 51% prioritize readiness and planning. Furthermore, 79% of leaders believe AI is secure enough for broader use, and 66% anticipate their data will be AI-ready within two years. ICF emphasizes the need for modern data infrastructure and governance to overcome data readiness challenges, advocating for investment in scalable data strategies and workforce upskilling to facilitate responsible, enterprise-wide AI adoption.
