0748 GMT - BP's second-quarter trading update should drive a more than 10% increase in consensus earnings expectations, Jefferies analysts Giacomo Romeo and Kai Ye Loh write. This is due to higher-than-expected upstream volumes and a better-than-expected trading contribution, they write. BP is now guiding for a strong trading result, from an average result in the prior quarter, they add. The guidance for a slight reduction in net debt should also be well-received, they write. Shares trade up 2.3% at 397.85 pence. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
