Robex Resources (ASX:RXR) said the initial results from the ongoing pre-production grade control drilling at the Mansounia ore body at the Kiniero gold project in Guinea demonstrated high-grade intercepts, according to a Thursday ASX filing.

It encountered high-grade intercepts of 24 meters at 2.90 grams per tonne grade of gold from 16 meters, as well as 11 meters at 3.27 g/t grade of gold from eight meters.

The drilling targeted areas within the proposed open pit design, focusing on zones identified for early-stage mining.

The firm said it is on track to deliver the first gold at the project in the fourth quarter.

It added that on Wednesday, it secured an amendment to its $130 million facility agreement with Sprott, releasing $25 million from the cash sweep account to fund construction of the Kiniero project.
