Nordic Stocks Tipped to Open Slightly Lower -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jul 11, 2025

0649 GMT - Nordic markets are seen opening slightly lower. IG calls the OMXS30 down 0.3% at around 2573. There was slightly positive sentiment on most stock markets yesterday with moderate stock price increases in both the U.S. and Europe, Jyske Markets analyst Kim Faester writes. Last night, Trump threatened Canada with a 35% tariff on some products effective August 1, and also threatened to raise tariffs on other countries from the current 10% to 15%-20%. "However, investors are taking the threats relatively calmly with minor price declines in stock futures in the U.S., Europe and Canada." The moderate reaction is down to investors not really believing that Trump will carry out the threats, and also because the tariffs on Canada only seem to target a few products, Faester adds. OMXS30 closed at 2580.29, OMXN40 at 2397.02 and OBX at 1537.95. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
