July 15 - (The Insurer) - Vivere, a managing general agent launched by former Socius and Swiss Re executive Chris McKechnie, has hired Rachael Dougherty as chief underwriting officer of specialty property.
Dougherty has more than 14 years of experience in the industry.
Most recently, she served as the West Coast territory lead for Munich Re Specialty Insurance. Before that, she held roles at Transatlantic Reinsurance Company.
"In her new role, Rachael will be instrumental in expanding Vivere’s property-focused programs, particularly where we can deliver unique value to our carrier partners," Vivere said in a LinkedIn post.
Vivere raised $7.5 million through a Series A funding round led by General Catalyst, Pathlight Ventures and Greenlight Re, Program Manager reported in April.
The Laguna Beach, California-based startup said at the time the funding would be used to accelerate its strategic expansion, which includes the recruitment of underwriting talent along with the development of technology infrastructure.
