花旗集团亚太区投行业务负责人Jan Metzger表示，该集团计划在未来一年将其在日本的投行员工人数增加10%至15%，并在澳大利亚招聘新员工，这是其提振亚太地区增长战略的一部分。

　　Dealogic的数据显示，投资者对日本跨境并购（M&A）的兴趣日益浓厚，导致花旗今年在日本的投行费用收入同比增长140%，截至7月10日达到9200万美元。

　　“我们正在以一种非常有意义的方式招聘和加强我们的地区投行团队，”Metzger周三接受采访时表示。

　　Metzger说：“我们将进入一个增长惊人的市场，我们的增长速度将超过市场。”花旗没有披露每个市场的具体员工人数。

　　Metzger表示，特别是日本的投资银行业务将“显著增长”，因公司治理的转变、监管机构推动企业提高市值，以及先进硬件技术的强劲供应。

　　在日本，花旗上月为日本制铁以149亿美元收购美国钢铁的交易担任独家顾问。

　　Metzger说：“我认为，在日本制铁交易的背景下，我们的业务十分忙碌，有来自日本和其他地方的客户有复杂的地缘政治交易要做。”

　　花旗今年从竞争对手那里招募高级银行家，加强了其在亚洲的投行团队，其中包括日本野村证券（Nomura）高级董事总经理Akira Kiyota和前高盛资深高管菲利浦·佩尔齐（Philippe Perzi）。
