Bangkok Expressway, Metro Face Weak Ridership, Traffic Volume -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jul 16, 2025

0159 GMT - Bangkok Expressway and Metro may be hit by weak ridership and traffic volume, Thanachart Securities' Saksid Phadthananarak says in a note, as the brokerage cuts its 2025-2027 earnings estimates for the transportation company by 5% per year. The analyst cites factors such as the temporary closure of some expressway entrances and exits owing to Thailand's earthquake in late March and traffic jams due to construction near expressways. Thanachart Securities lowers the stock's target price to THB8.00 from THB9.00. However, Bangkok Expressway and Metro is a fundamentally strong company with good infrastructure assets and long concession periods for expressways and mass transit lines, says the brokerage, which maintains the stock's buy rating. Shares last closed at THB5.30. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
