据媒体报道，三星显示公司已开始为可折叠iPhone生产有机发光二极管（OLED）做准备。据悉，该公司正在为苹果公司建设一条专用于可折叠显示屏的生产线。据悉，设备更换等工作已于去年下半年启动，目前已进入最后阶段。该工厂产能为每月3.5万片（基于第六代玻璃基板）。换算成7英寸可折叠OLED标准，年产能为1500万片，月产能为125万片。
据TrendForce数据，2024年全球折叠屏手机出货量为1780万台，预计2027年有望增长至7000万台，2024-27年CAGR为57.8%。华西证券表示，苹果加速入局折叠屏，有望带动折叠屏手机实现加速放量，并有望引领折叠屏产业链实现创新升级。看好折叠屏UTG盖板、铰链等核心增量环节以及液态金属、3D打印等新工艺。
