Kenvue $(KVUE)$: The maker of Tylenol and Benadryl named director Kirk Perry as interim chief executive. Shares were up about 1% in midday trading.
Volvo Car (VOLCAR.B): Shares of the Swedish automaker fell 4% after the company said it would take a non-cash impairment charge of $1.2 billion related to launch delays and tariffs.
Waters $(WAT.AU)$: The lab equipment and software maker agreed to combine with Becton Dickinson $(BDX.SI)$'s biosciences & diagnostic-solutions business, in a deal valued around $17.5 billion. Waters shares dropped roughly 12%.
Synopsys (SNPS): The chip-design software company received conditional approval from China to move forward with its $35 billion acquisition of Ansys $(ANSS)$. Shares of Synopsys were down nearly 2% while Ansys was up 3%.
Fastenal (FAST): Shares in the industrial-supplies maker rose nearly 2% after it posted a jump in quarterly sales.
Tesla $(TSLA)$: Chief Executive Elon Musk said the EV maker would hold a shareholder vote regarding investing in his artificial-intelligence company, xAI. Tesla shares were up nearly 1%.
Coinbase (COIN), MicroStrategy $(MSTR)$: and Robinhood (HOOD): Crypto-sensitive stocks rose, as bitcoin prices rallied to another high and Coinbase's market cap shot up to $100 billion for the first time. The House of Representatives is expected to consider multiple bills related to cryptocurrencies this week.
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD): The "Superman" movie grossed an estimated $122 million in the U.S. and Canada on its opening weekend.
Apple $(AAPL)$: The iPhone maker offered Formula One as much as $150 million a year for the U.S. rights to air races, topping what it gets currently from Disney $(DIS)$'s ESPN. Apple shares edged lower.
