英国零售商协会（BRC）周二公布的数据显示，英国6月份零售销售同比增长3.1%，超过5月份1%的增长，创下今年第二大月度增幅。
英国零售商协会首席执行官海伦·迪金森说：“气温飙升增加了电风扇的销量，而运动和休闲设备的销量则受到天气和温布尔登网球锦标赛开始的推动。”
英国经历了自1884年有详细记录以来最热的6月，而整个英国的平均气温是有记录以来第二高的。
6月份的支出增长将给零售商带来一些鼓舞，此前5月份的官方数据显示，当月零售销售出现了自2023年12月以来的最大月度降幅。5月份的官方数据涵盖了比英国零售商协会数据更广泛的商店。
上周公布的官方数据显示，5月份英国整体经济意外萎缩，这加大了财政大臣里夫斯（Rachel Reeves）的压力。
英国零售商协会周二表示，零售支出上升部分反映了食品价格上涨。超市消费同比增长4.1%，而非食品类商店消费同比增长2.2%。
