Consilium adds Besant as partner for delegated risk solutions

By Ashish Tiwari

July 14 - (The Insurer) - Aventum's specialty insurance broker Consilium has appointed George Besant as a partner in its delegated risk solutions division, the company said on Monday.

In this role, Besant will focus on supporting MGAs to build profitable portfolios, including Aventum’s own Rokstone Underwriting.

He will also help expand Consilium’s client portfolio by targeting emerging trends in delegated underwriting and capacity sourcing.

Besant joins Consilium following four years at Superscript, latterly as head of capacity.

He previously held director roles at Alesco, Capsicum Re and Arthur J Gallagher.

Consilium expanded its delegated risk solutions division earlier this year with the appointment of Lucy Moore as head of technical and operations.

Moore most recently served as delegated underwriting authority client account manager at Aon, prior to which she spent two years as deputy delegated underwriting manager at Convex.
