AB Foods Looks Sweet With and Without Sugar Business -- Market Talk
Dow Jones

0804 GMT - Associated British Foods stock looks attractive even including the company's sugar business, Panmure Liberum analysts say in a research note. Sugar business' earnings are volatile and have a disproportionate impact on the British conglomerate's share price, the analysts say. However, they note the division is a quality business that generates better returns than peers. The market underestimates the pace of recovery of the sugar unit as well as the tailwinds benefiting Primark, Panmure Liberum says. Primark's U.K. and Ireland sales declines look temporary and the retailer remains the key growth platform in AB Foods. Shares are up 2.5% at 20.96 pounds. (maitane.sardon@wsj.com)
