Energy stocks were edging lower premarket Monday with the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.1% recently.
The United States Oil Fund (USO) was 0.02% higher and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was up 1.6%.
Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was nearly 0.4% higher at $68.69 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained nearly 0.4% to $70.62 per barrel. Natural gas futures were 2.2% higher at $3.425 per 1 million British Thermal Units.
Expro Group (XPRO) shares were nearly 0.1% higher after the company said it received a major three-year contract with Woodside Energy to support Mexico's first deepwater oil project, the Trion development.
